Discovery Careers Week held at Kingsbridge Community College

Kingsbridge Community College was excited to host its annual Discovery Careers Week this term, aimed at providing students with invaluable insights into a wide range of career options and opportunities.

Throughout the week, students engaged with a variety of local employers and professionals through the online live discovery panels.

These sessions allowed students to ask questions and learn more about career paths in industries such as healthcare, conservation, engineering, uniformed services, finance, and the arts.

The panels took place during college assemblies, ensuring that all year groups could get involved in this exciting opportunity to hear first-hand from the people shaping these industries. Students engaged brilliantly asking relevant questions about routes through to the different careers sectors.

The highlight of the week was the discovery pathways fair, which brought together a wide range of education providers and apprenticeship opportunities, giving students the chance to explore alternative routes into employment, including vocational training, apprenticeships, and further education.

Stands included: South Devon College, Access Creative College, NHS, SKERN, The Royal Air Force, The University of South Wales and South Hams District Council. With experts on hand to offer guidance, students left the event with a clearer understanding of the diverse pathways available to them.
