House fire breaks out in Totnes

A fire broke out in the living room of a house in Totnes yesterday.

Totnes Fire Station, alongside colleagues from Buckfastleigh and Paignton, were called to Quarry Close, Follaton, Totnes, on Monday, 1 July, at around 7pm.

A spokesperson for Buckfastleigh Fire Station posted on social media, saying: "Crews from Totnes arrived to find a well developed fire in the lounge area which was spreading to the roof structure.

"Crews got to work using a firefighting jet, two hose reel jets and six breathing apparatus and successfully stopped any further spread to the rest of the property.

"Totnes will be holding a have a go day on the 3 August if the work we do is something that you might be interested in, why not pop down and meet the team who would be happy to see you."
