Kingsbridge Skatepark attracts tens of thousands of pounds in less than two months

The new Kingsbridge Skatepark project has raised more than £27,000 in less than two months on Crowdfunder.

Kingsbridge Skatepark launched their Crowdfunder in November and since then they have received enormous levels of support from local people and local businesses.

They need to raise £30,000 before the deadline of 13 January 2023 or none of the money is released, and has so far raised £27,404.

Some of the bigger donations included £10,000 from Sport England, £5,000 from British Cycling, £1,000 from The Pavers foundation on behalf of Herring Shoes and £1,000 from the Devon and Cornwall Police Community Resilience Fund.

Local companies including Weaver Green, Waterborn SUP, Creeks End, Heron Valley, Bo's Beach Cafe, Shiner Distribution, Triocean, Mangetout, Harbour Bookshop, Habit, The Trading Post, Red Air Media, Outside Devon, Barton Solutions, Ben Ward Visuals, tattoo artist Dris Donnelly, Surf Coach International, Emily Price, Salcombe Paddle Sports, Sophie Gregson, Save A Packet and KDJ Collective, provided rewards for people who donated.

Leading member of the Kingsbridge Skatepark group, Adam Sherring, said: “It’s a very difficult economic climate to hold a crowdfunder but the support shown so far really demonstrates how much of the community are behind the project. We have to hit the £30k target else we don’t receive any of the donations, so if you can please help us provide the area with an amazing facility!”
