Like theatre and drama but don't fancy taking to the stage? Try KATS' reading group

If you love theatre and drama but don't fancy donning a costume and treading the boards yourself, why don't you check out KATS@Play Reading Group?

Kingsbridge Amateur Theatrical Society (KATS) are launching a KATS@Play Reading Group - a space where people can enjoy reading a selection of modern and classic plays in a friendly and informal environment.

Their first meeting will be on Wednesday, 10 January, at 7pm at Kingsbridge Care Hub (the Age Concern building next to Kingsbridge Library).

Their first play will be Last Tango at Little Grimley, a comedy about a failing amdram group (not KATS!) who decide to spice up their productions with hilarious results.

The sessions are £2 each to cover the cost of room and scripts hire, and last for two hours. They’ll be held on the second Wednesday of every month and will alternate comedy and drama. February’s meeting will feature The Crucible by Arthur Miller.

Pat Barlow, KATS, said: "A great way to meet like-minded people and make new friends in the New Year! Just email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to book a place."
