The A379 through Frogmore will be closed for drainage works from the 7 November and residents are pleading with drivers to not use Sherford as a cut through.

Devon County Council have announced that the A379 through Frogmore will be closed from Monday, 7 November, until an anticipated finish on Friday, 25 November, although it is hoped to be finished sooner.

A resident posted on social media saying: "Please, please try and avoid Sherford if you can. We have no other way out of our village than the lanes and we need to get to work/school/shops and appointments."

The official diversion is given as Frogmore to Kingsbridge, to Churchstow Roundabout, to Sorley Cross, to Halwell, to Hemborough Post, to Dartmouth, to Blackpool Sands, to Strete, to Slapton Line, to Chillington - A379, A381, A3122, A379 and vice versa.

All diversions of an A-road closure must have a full A-road diversion (hence the looooong diversion) and everyone knows the shortcuts through the lanes, but the lanes around Sherford specifically get really clogged whenever the A379 is closed, causing traffic chaos for those who live there.

The school bus will be allowed through the closed section under marshall,
