Yacht runs aground and takes on water

Dartmouth Coastguard and Rescue Team and Dart RNLI were called to Bow Creek on the River Dart after reports of a vessel aground and taking on water. 

A spokesperson for Dartmouth Coastguard Rescue Team said: "The remote location meant access from the riverbank was limited. It also required Dartmouth Coastguard Rescue Team to relay communications between the lifeboat and Falmouth Coastguard Operations Centre.

The remote location made the operation tricky - credit Dartmouth Coastguard Rescue Service 

"All those on board were safe and well. Dart RNLI Lifeboat and Dart Harbour & Navigation Authority then worked together to pump water from the vessel.

"A great example of volunteers from the local community working alongside our harbour partners to help fellow members of their community when they need it most."
