Based near Kingsbridge, South Devon, on the Kingsbridge to Dartmouth coastal road. With over three decades of experience on this site we aim to cater both to locals and tourists by offering all the every day essential products from DIY products to pet food as well as an enormous range of outdoor products from camping and caravanning, kayaking/canoeing, beach gear, surfing products, shooting, hiking, and so much more!
Established in 1987, Ashby’s began as a family-run business on the stunning Kingsbridge to Dartmouth coastal road. This East Charleton store remains, under the name Ashby’s of Kingsbridge, as well as, in 2018, being joined by Ashby’s of Salcombe with The Blue Whale Cafe, just a few miles away on the main road between Malborough and Salcombe.
Ashby’s of Kingsbridge has a reputation for its extensive range of stock that aims to satisfy the needs of both locals and tourists - offering both an outdoor leisure store combined with a handy general store.

I try to spend my summers in the South Hams in a caravan. Needless to say, there are always breakages, maintenance or new ideas to address. Ashbys haven’t let me down yet.

A great shop for most things especially those urgent bits required for home or boat DIY people like me. Always open at the weekend and I can get my lunch and a coffee at the same time.

Popped in for petrol, came out with wetsuits, beach gear, a bacon butty and very nearly an inflatable canoe - definitely got to go; its a holiday must now.
