Four fire engines attended a blaze in a field behind South Devon Chilli Farm yesterday.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called at 11.55am, to a fire involving nearly 10,000 square metres of cut grass in a field behind the chilli farm.

A spokesperson for DSFRS said: "Crews used hose reel jets and beaters to stop the fire spreading. The fire was extinguished at around 2.30pm but an appliance returned in the evening to check for hotspots."

No one was injured in the incident.
