It's only November, but Halloween is over, the weather is getting colder so its time to start thinking about what to do for Christmas - and Kingsbridge Celebrates Christmas has to be high on the list.
On Saturday, 3 December, the day will begin with the sound of bells as the Town Crier welcomes Father Christmas to the town on a mystery mode of transport – what will it be this time?
While Fore Street will be full to bursting of stalls, local suppliers and small businesses selling their wares, the Little Train will be running to give youngsters trips along the estuary and festive food will be overflowing at the farmer's market.
As you meet up with friends or wander with family, you can listen to live music and sample some delicious, warming street food and a mulled wine...or two? Stallholders will be handing out free samples, shopkeepers will be tempting you in, and clever crafters will be showcasing their wares.
At the top of the hill you will find Father Christmas in his grotto. Children can join in with "An Audience with Father Christmas" as he tells all about his time in the North Pole with Rudolf and the elves. This is free of charge, with no need to book, but timed sessions will be advertised in advance to help you plan your day.
On your way back through the town be sure to explore the alleyways off Fore Street and find churches and market halls holding fairs, fetes and special displays. Stop in a café, sip a hot chocolate or coffee and restore your energy ready for a twirl on the ice skating rink - this year it will be twice the size of last year!
The ice rink will be accompanied by a giant snow globe for taking selfies and will provide free family fun on the Town Square all through the day and then will turn into festive fun for friends as it goes dark. For the first time, stay late for drinks, food and live music by the beautiful Christmas tree.
