Kingsbridge Community Champions 2024 have been named!

Kingsbridge Town Council has named their 2024 Community Champions, including SouthHams.com member Steph Pope. 

On Tuesday 14 May, before handing over the Mayoral baton to Cllr Julia Wingate, Mayor Philip Cole presented the awards for this year’s Kingsbridge Community Champions in front of their family and friends, and alongside fellow Councillors.

The winners for 2024 are:

* Steph Pope, Kingsbridge Nurslings
* Caroline Bright, Kingsbridge Pop-in Group
* Nicola Fox, Kingsbridge all-rounder!
* Geoff Rossetti, stalwart of “The Little Train”
* Sarah Stephens, 2nd Kingsbridge Brownies
* Vicky Smith, 2nd Kingsbridge Guides & Rangers
* Chris Barnwell, “Walking for Health”
* Judy Hales, Compassionate Café, Abbeyfield House -and more!

A spokesperson for Kingsbridge Town Council said: "A big thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate your Champions and congratulations to each of this year's very worthy recipients.

"We applaud your tireless energy, enthusiasm and efforts to make our community a better and more fulfilling place. THANK YOU!!"

Steph, who got her award for running Nurslings, a mum-to-mum support and information group available in Kingsbridge Baptist Church on Wednesday mornings, is also provides mindful infant and breastfeeding support with Nurtured By You - check them out. 

Steph said she, along with Caroline Bright who runs the Pop-In Play group at the Baptist Church in Kingsbridge on a Tuesday morning, were "dead chuffed and very grateful for everyone's ongoing support".
