A mini had to be hauled off the beach by a recovery truck's crane, in what must have turned a nice trip to the beach into more of a nightmare.

Matt Hammett was at the beach at Torcross at the time and said while he didn't see the original incident occur, said that it was caused by the driver "mistaking the accelerator for the brake".

With a drop like that on the other side, this must have been terrifying so we hope the driver and any passengers aren't too shaken up.

Matt said it "took a while" to get the car back on hard standing again and in the end the recovery truck had to "use its crane".
