Michael Taylor is the owner of Coast to Coast Taxis in Kingsbridge and is honestly one of the loveliest people you could wish to meet. Southhams.com recently spent the morning getting to know a little about Mike and his long-standing, local taxi firm…

Tell us a little about the history of Coast 2 Coast Taxis

Nine years ago I set up Coast to Coast Taxis with the plan to provide a professional yet competitively priced taxi service to residents and holiday makers alike. The number of cars in the fleet has gone up and down over the years but the quality of service offered has always remained top notch. I’m a South Hams boy born and bred and therefore know the area like the back of my hand. Traffic and road diversions aren’t too much of a problem as I will always know an alternative route and the most time effective way of getting to the desired destination.

What services do Coast 2 Coast Offer?

I offer a local service for local people - if you’d like picking up from the top of kingsbridge town and taking down to Morrisons then we can do that. If you’d like us to pick you up from Malborough and take you through to Derriford hospital and wait until your appointments finished, then bring you home again, we can do that too.

A drop off and pick up service is available to all major airports, train stations and ferry-ports in the UK. No journey is too long or indeed too short. We’ve got an 8 seater and an Audi A6 available so let us know the size of your party when booking and we’ll take care of the rest.

We also cater for weddings and other special occasions. The Audi A6 looks beautiful when all dressed up for someone’s big day.

What would you say makes Coast to Coast stand out from the crowd?

We are a very professional and clean company. Our cabs are always spotless and smell lovely and fresh. Plus we always turn up on time. I can’t bear tardiness and have always made sure that I and my employees turn up where and when we should every time. Our reviews, which you can see on southhams.com speak for themselves. Coast 2 CoastTaxis have got fabulous reviews which probably tell you more than I ever could.

What’s your favourite part of the job?

Meeting people. I’m a people person and there’s nothing better than meeting lovely new people day in day out. Being a taxi driver you get to meet all sorts of unique and interesting people. I love having a conversation and a bit of a laugh. Living somewhere like Kingsbridge and driving a taxi - it means there’s not many people I don’t know!

So if you’re in the market for a reliable, local taxi firm who will turn up when they’re supposed to and get you where you need to be on time check out Coast 2 Coast’s listing on southhams.com for their contact details. Mike’s looking forward to hearing from you!
