Fire crews from Ashburton and Buckfastleigh warned drivers to check their tyres and windscreen wipers after attending a single vehicle accident on the A38.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service crew members from Buckfastleigh and Ashburton were called at 7pm to a single vehicle traffic collision on the A38 bravo carriageway.
On arrival, everyone involved was "free and clear from the vehicle and being checked over by the ambulance service".
A spokesperson for the DSFRS said: "The officer in charge had the vehicle made safe and we then returned it to its four wheels using a turfur winch so it would be quicker for the recovery process and get the road open as quickly as possible.
"As the weather is now turning wetter now is the time to check your tyres and windscreen wipers and make sure your vehicle is winter ready!"
