Four arrested after vehicle thefts in Ivybridge
Four young people have been arrested following vehicle thefts in Ivybridge.
Ivybridge Police posted on social media on Tuesday, 28 July, asking for information following a spate of vehicle thefts in the previous 24 hours.
By the end of the day, four arrests had been made "following a further incident".
The original thefts took place in Yeolland Park, Springwood Close, Fairway Avenue and Elizabeth Close.
A spokesperson said: "Our enquiries remain ongoing, and we would like to thank the community for its support and the information provided so far. If you have any further information that may assist this investigation, please contact us at:
"If you live in or around these areas, please check any CCTV, doorbell cameras, dashcam footage, or other recordings that may have captured suspicious activity, people, or vehicles. Even information that may seem insignificant could help build a clearer picture of what has happened.
"Whilst this is a positive development, we would continue to urge residents to remain vigilant and take steps to protect their vehicles and property."
Ivybridge Police then offered some crime prevention advice:
✅ Always lock your vehicle, even when parked on your driveway.
✅ Keep keys securely stored and out of sight, away from doors and windows.
✅ Consider using steering locks, signal-blocking pouches for keyless vehicles, and vehicle tracking devices where appropriate.
✅ Ensure valuables are removed from vehicles or kept out of sight.
✅ Report any suspicious activity in your neighbourhood.
