Kingsbridge man killed while walking along A38, police appeal for witnesses

A man in his 50s was killed after a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian near Buckfastleigh.

Police attended the scene on the A38 at Dean Prior in Buckfastleigh at 12.36pm on Sunday, 2 October, following a report of a "road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian". 

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The pedestrian, a man aged in his 50s from the Kingsbridge area, died at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed.

"Ambulance, the air ambulance and the fire service were also called to the incident.

"The road reopened at around 10.15pm.

 

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team who attended are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision or who have relevant dashcam footage. Anyone with information is asked to contact police via our website here or by calling 101 quoting log 393 of 2 October 2022."
