Police have prevented a man from attempting to take his own life in Bolberry. 

A police spokesperson said: "We were called with a report of concern for the welfare of a man on cliffs at Bolberry Down at around 2.10pm on Monday 14 March.

"Officers attended and spoke with the man and the incident was resolved safely at around 3.45pm.

"The man was left in the care of mental health professionals.

"HM Coastguard was also called to the incident."
