Pearse & Sons - Straw Suppliers

A small family farming business that has been established for over 109 years. We supply clean and dry Top quality East Anglian Straw, Barley, Wheat and Oat to customers and businesses in Wales and the West Country.

Most of the straw we sell is baled by ourselves locally and barn stored for delivery in the Autumn and Winter months. We supply straw from our own and local farms in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Predominantly an arable cropping area with an average rainfall of around 25 inches, it is well suited to producing clean and dry straw in an average season.

Our baler is fitted with a moisture meter and the lorry is equipped with a hand held probe on board. By baling, carting, and storing the straw ourselves we have the right formula for supplying a high quality product for our customers and businesses in South Devon, Wales, and the West Country.

Straw Storage - We like to offer our customers the guarantee that they have straw reserved at a fixed price and that it is barn stored and available as and when required.

Delivery & Collection - We provide a delivery service by rigid lorry and drag in loads of 12 to 28 tons. We also provide a local collection service for farmers and customers in South Devon.

Forward Contract - We are able to offer forward contracts for straw in two periods, from harvest to the end of December and January onward.

Bale Sizes / Types

We offer full or split loads of 120 x 70 quadrants delivered in approximately 12.5 or 25 tons loads. We can also provide small conventional bales to order for Horses or Lambing sheds.

We supply various types of straw: East Anglian, Barley, Wheat and Oat.
