You really should. Aside from the always excellent reporting of local news, the Kingsbridge & Salcombe Gazette has got some adorable pictures of African crested porcupine babies! Good enough reason for me since I’m a sucker for anything cute and furry … or maybe even prickly. Known as ‘porcupettes’, apparently, they are recent arrivals at the Woodlands Family Theme Park near Dartmouth.

A glance to the left of the article and you will see an opportunity to win a £30 bouquet from Studio Flowers of Churchstow for Mothering Sunday. You’ll have to be quick, though; you will need to get your details in to Jane at the Gazette by tomorrow (Tuesday) to qualify.

Turn the page and there you will find a lovely example of what Jane, Kim and all the advertising team at the Gazette do so well; rallying the troops to support a good cause. This Saturday it’s the Delicious Dart Trail being held in Dartmouth in aid of Country Holidays for Inner City Kids (CHICKS). Supported by some great images from Greg Taylor taken at last year’s event, the feature tells you all about it and how you can take part. It certainly promises to be a fun day out.

If that hasn’t got you rushing out to your local newsagents to buy a copy before they all run out, our two local MPs, Dr Sarah Wollaston and Gary Streeter, can be found inside the front page debating the pros and cons of remaining in Europe. Want to find out what it’s all about? Here’s your chance. For more news and stories, see the Gazette online at www.kingsbridge-today.co.uk.
