SHDC releases Christmas and New Year waste collection dates

South Hams District Council has released the dates for waste and recycling collections over Christmas and New Year. 

South Hams collections teams have announced their adjusted dates for routes over the festive period.

Collections will run as normal in the week commencing 16 December 2024.

Tuesday, 31 December Thursday, 2 January

Thursday, 2 January Saturday, 4 January
Friday, 3 January Monday, 6 January
Monday, 6 January Tuesday, 7 January
Tuesday, 7 January Wednesday, 8 January
Wednesday, 8 January Thursday, 9 January
Thursday, 9 January Friday, 10 January
Friday, 10 January Saturday, 11 January

Collections will return to normal in the week beginning Monday, 13 January 2025.

Garden Waste Suspension

The garden waste service will be suspended for two weeks, from Wednesday, 25 December, 2024 and Wednesday, 8 January, 2025. Service will resume on 9 January, 2025. 

This two week suspension in line with the terms and conditions for the subscription garden waste service.

Don't forget!

If your real tree is six foot or less, and you're subscribed to the garden waste service, you can put your tree out for collection from Thursday, 9 January, 2025.
