Police investigating a road traffic collision on Coronation Road, Totnes, which left a man with serious injuries, are appealing for a female witness to come forward.

Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a white Ford Transit van and a pedestrian at 6.15pm on Saturday 11 November.

The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, sustained serious, potentially life-threatening, injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Sergeant Tina Green, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are especially interested in speaking to a woman who assisted the casualty at the scene.

“She is described as a white female, around 5ft 9in with long, dark blonde curly hair and aged around 40-50 years. She may have been called Amanda.”

A 67-year-old man from Totnes was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and being unfit to drive through drink. He has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.

The road was closed for several hours while an investigation was carried out at the scene and was reopened at around 2.50am, on Sunday 12 November.

If you witnessed the incident or have any information or dashcam footage that could help with enquiries, please contact police via website here or by calling 101 quoting log 643 of 11/11/23.
