Selworthy Vets, Equine, Farm Animal and Small Animal Accredited Practice.
We aim to provide an efficient, professional and caring veterinary service for you and your animal.
We are based in Kingsbridge, but we also cover surrounding areas including Dartmouth, Totnes, Salcombe.
We provide 24 hour emergency cover at this practice, by our regular staff.
Cats
We see cats of all breeds and ages at the surgery. The most important thing to do with a new cat or kitten is to ensure that he/she has had a health check and is vaccinated against the main infectious diseases of cats. We use the Purevax vaccines manufactured by Merial, as we believe they provide the best protecting for your cats.
At the health check we can also advise on parasite control for fleas and worms. We stock all the major parasite control products on the market.
We recommend neutering of all cats taht are not intended for breeding. We offer microchipping.
Dogs
We see dogs of all breeds from mongrels to pedigree breeding dogs. We are keen to see any new dog for a general health check and to discuss vaccination against the major infectious diseases.
We can also discuss parasite control for fleas, ticks and worms. We can discuss neutering, which we generally recommend for non-breeding animals. During neutering we offer microchipping at a reduced rate.

Horses
We see a range of equines from rescued donkeys and children's ponies to brood mares, eventers, showjumpers and dressage horses.
We are able to perform all aspects of routine equine work from 3 and 5 stage vettings, lameness work-up, endoscopy and investigations for poor performance.
We have close links with referral practices where further investigations or more complicated surgery may be performed, such as colic surgery or arthroscopy.
Cattle
We see a range of cattle in the area from high yielding dairy cattle to the local South Devon breek which are now considered a beef breed although they used to be milked in the area until relatively recently.
We undertake all routine and emergency work for cattle, such as calving, fertility work, dehorning, castration, TB testing and investigation of disease outbreaks.
We use the Veterinary laboratory Agency at Starcross for laboratory work and post mortems.
Puppy Parties
I have been running puppy parties for nine years, and thoroughly enjoy teaching the classes. The class runs for five consecutive weeks and we concentrate on basic commands and socialisation. For more information contact Laura on 01548 853322.
