A spokesperson for Buckfastleigh Fire Station said: "Thankfully we have had a fairly quiet Christmas with only a few incidents attended, one being a road traffic collision on the A38.

"On arrival the driver of the vehicle was in the safe hands of the ambulance service so we concentrated on making the vehicle safe and removing debris from the carriageway.

"We attended with our friends from Ashburton Fire Station and remained on scene for approximately one hour.

"As we approach 2024 we would like to thank you for all the support and love that you have shown to the station over the past year and wish you a safe and happy 2024."
