Huge crab caught off Salcombe

An enormous crab caught off Salcombe was the biggest ever caught by skipper Chris Puncher. 

Chris, owner of Salcombe Fish and Shellfish Ltd, caught the giant crab, which weighed in at 9.6lb or 4.4kg, on 24 June from his boat Mayhem 2. 

He got his crewman Toby Woods to hold the male brown crab for a photo and later sold it for £40. 

As Chris said "you'll get a few sarnies out of him!"
