Three tickets were issued, with one driver being clocked at 43mph on the 30mph road.

Officers from the "professional development unit" supported local Totnes officers for a speed enforcement operation in South Brent.

A spokesperson for Totnes Police Neighbourhood Team said: "Following a recent speed op in another local area, Exeter road was reported as an area that needed some enforcement.

"Three tickets were issued for speeds of 37mph or higher.

"The recorded speeds varied from 21mph to 43mph for the time we were present.

"Please be aware that this is a 30mph stretch of road and as there has been a requirement for enforcement…. We will be back…..

"Hopefully this will address the concerns raised by the community about this particular issue.

Thanks again for reading and staying engaged with us. We rely on you to highlight your concerns so we know where we are needed the most."
