Fitness retreat will mix sunshine, fitness and good food

A fitness retreat will mix personal training and exercise with sunshine, stunning views and beautiful local food next month.

Kat Wallace, who started her own personal training business a year ago, is running the retreat at Willow Farm (also known as The Barn at South Milton) between 16 - 19 July 2021 and there are still a couple of spaces left!

Kat, 21, will be leading guests in a mix of classes from High-intensity Interval Training (HIIT) to a 30 minute Energise Morning Stretch in the morning and a Stretch and Relax class in the evenings, with much more during the day, as well as a guided walk around the stunning South Milton scenery and beaches.

Kat will assess your fitness levels via a short questionnaire which will be completed prior to your arrival, so there’s absolutely no need to worry about the level of your fitness prior to your stay.

All the workouts are included in the cost of your stay but are completely optional. You can dip in and out of classes if you want to and there is lots of down time built into the schedule so you can explore the local area and take in the stunning locations right on the doorstep.

The retreat includes full bed and board in chic bell tents and food prepared by Janey of Ocean's Reach. Served 'family style' it will give everyone a chance to get to know each other and enjoy a nice chat around the table (with maybe even a gin or two!). The food will be concentrating on local, healthy ingredients drawing from companies, such as Salcombe Meat Company and Terawhiti Farm, and there will be lots of plant-based options too.

Kat herself is very excited about the retreat. She said: "I have experience teaching a variety of classes so it seemed like the perfect opportunity. I’m very excited to meet new people and to teach classes in such a beautiful location.

"I feel very grateful to have this opportunity at 21, especially as my business isn’t even a year old yet, so it’s come along way in a year as I started by just having a group of six people in Aveton Gifford park on a Saturday, teaching circuits, to now having lots of clients and hosting a retreat!"

She summed up the idea as "fitness, sunshine and good food what more could you want (and gin!)"
