Ashburton Arts Centre will host internationally acclaimed flautist Eliza Marshall on Friday, 5 September, in a rare solo performance showcasing her ground-breaking new solo project Eternal Birth.
Following her recent New Birth EP (Real World X), Eliza’s upcoming debut album Eternal Birth is a cinematic and spiritual exploration of life’s cycles - from conception to death, through ancestry, renewal, and the unseen connections between earth, humanity, and spirit.
The performance blends flute, bansuri, percussion, spoken word and ambient electronics into a deeply moving experience. Drawing on musical traditions from Scotland, Africa and beyond, Eliza channels decades of global experience into this bold new chapter of artistic expression.
“Eliza Marshall doesn’t turn a page – she writes a new one; vibrant, free, and luminous.” – Iggy Magazine
“This is pure self-expression from someone who knows exactly who they are.” – Indie Boulevard
Eliza has performed with Peter Gabriel’s New Blood Orchestra, recorded with Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, First Aid Kit, and Florence + The Machine, and contributed to soundtracks for Disney’s Mufasa, among many others.
Her Eternal Birth tour marks a significant moment in her creative evolution - an intimate and expansive live show that celebrates connection, nature, and the eternal pulse of life.
