Biker airlifted to hospital after collision with a lorry
A motorcyclist has been airlifted to Derriford after a collision with a lorry this morning.
Update 7pm: Biker has suffered life changing injuries.
A police spokesperson said: "At 0755hrs on Wednesday 15th June 2022, a two-vehicle road traffic collision occurred on the A381 close to East Allington in Devon involving a silver BMW K1200 and a white DAF Heavy Goods Vehicle.
"As a result of the collision, the rider of the motorcycle has suffered life changing injuries.
"The rider was airlifted to Derriford Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.
"Officers from the Roads Policing Team, RCRO and local officers attended the scene. Once a thorough investigation had been conducted the road was re-opened."
Any persons who witnessed the collision or has information regarding it – in particular any Dashcam footage or CCTV, are asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101 quoting log number 121 15.06.2022.

Update 2pm: The road from Stumpy Post to the Mounts is now open.

Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a lorry, on the A381 at East Allington, at around 8am today, Wednesday, 15 June.
Emergency services are at the scene.
The road is closed from Stumpy Post roundabout to the Mounts and therefore the lanes around the area are busier than usual, causing further issues.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "One person has been airlifted to Derriford Hospital with serious injuries.
"Local road closures have been put in place and we ask that road users avoid the area.
"The incident is ongoing."
