Fire crews battle house fire in Ivybridge
Fire crews from four stations attended a house fire in Ivybridge.
Fire crews from Ivybridge, Modbury, Camels Head and Greenbank, attended the scene in Ivybridge following a call to a domestic property at 4.10pm on Thursday, 26 October.
Fire control received reports of "smoke issuing from the roof of a domestic property" and when they arrived, crews confirmed "smoke issuing from the roof space".
The crews battled the fire and the fire was completely extinguished at 8.40pm. There were no casualties.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "The fire, which started accidentally in an extractor fan in a first floor bathroom, then spread to the roof space.
"Crews worked well to prevent the fire spreading any further, using four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, safety jets and ladders to extinguish it, before thoroughly checking for hotspots with thermal imaging cameras.
"Once the scene was made safe duty of care was left with the owners, although one fire appliance will be returning later this evening for a safety check."
