Inspired by England’s women’s squad now playing in the 2023 Women’s World Cup, Fusion Lifestyle is announcing a competition initiative aimed at giving more support to women and girls football teams at grassroots level.

Local teams are invited to nominate themselves for a chance to win £500 worth of support or kit tailored to their specific needs. This support can range from shirt sponsorship to pitch hire, equipment, or any kit that the team may need.

A spokesperson for Fusion - who run Dartmouth, Ivybridge, Totnes and Quayside Leisure Centres - said that the initiative is in "celebration of the remarkable achievements and impact that the England Women’s team has had on women’s football" and "seeks to empower and nurture women’s teams" with the launch of the competition.

All teams have to do to enter is follow the link: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/3QBT7SS and fill out the form with their details, giving reasons as to why they should win. The teams chosen to win an award will be announced by Fusion Lifestyle shortly after every England win and nominations will continue to run whilst the team remains in the tournament.

The spokesperson continued: "The England women’s team have always captured the hearts and minds of the nation, becoming a true inspiration for women and girls across the country and spreading the message that the beautiful game really is for everyone.

"It is this message that inspired Fusion to encourage and support young women coming into the game and rewarding deserving teams so that they might become football stars of the future."

Anthony Cawley, Fusion Lifestyle CEO, comments: “Much like the rest of the nation, Fusion is behind the England team this summer, and to show our support, we’ve created an initiative that will encourage young women to start or keep playing the beautiful game!”
