Grain spill in Kingsbridge

Grain spillage on Kingsbridge roads stretches from Hospital Hill to Cookworthy Road roundabout. 

A grain spillage on Sunday night stretched from outside South Hams Hospital to the roundabout at the end of Cookworthy Road and Ilbert Road. 

The video sent to us shows the extent of the spill (sped up double time), but it was cleared by local farmers and Devon Highways in less than two hours.

Devon and Cornwall Police were called to the scene at 10pm. 

A police spokesperson explained: " Police were called at 10pm on Sunday, 6 August, following reports of a large grain spillage from a tractor trailer on Plymouth Road, Kingsbridge - near the hospital.

"The road was closed.

"Local farmers and Highways helped clear the road.

"All clear and road open just before midnight."
