The Repair Cafe came to Kingsbridge and saved a collection of things from landfill by fixing them.

Kingsbridge Climate Action organised the Repair Cafe at the Kingsbridge Care Hub for people to bring their broken or faulty items to try and save them from being thrown away.

They fixed a number of items, including: a pair of walking boots, a butterfly lamp, a clothes horse, a tiny toy pram, a wall clock, a toaster, three jumpers, a satchel, a ski suit, a dog harness, a table lamp, a dehumidifier and a Wallace & Gromit clock.

A spokesperson for Kingsbridge Climate Action said: "Thank you to everyone that came down with your broken things and to all our amazing volunteers of course.

"We are happy to have saved another good stash of items from landfill.

"Not everything that came in was fixable sadly - some items are just not safe when tested or require tricky parts that have become obsolete, but even for those non-fixed items it feels satisfying for the owners and our volunteers to at least know we've tried.

"We're aiming to add BIKES to our repair repertoire next month with a fixing station outside to get us all cycle-ready for spring."

The Repair Cafe will be back at Kingsbridge Care Hub on Sunday, 26 March, between 10am to 1pm.
