A police helicopter has been seen over Ivybridge this afternoon, Wednesday 9th February, and Sgt Ryan Canning of Ivybridge and Rural Police has kindly filled us in on the incident.

He reported that, "Following a report of a significant theft in the Dartmouth area, (1220hrs) a very diligent Kingsbridge colleague stopped a vehicle near to Totnes Cross. The driver was taken into custody, the passenger fled the scene. Whilst conducting searches in the area, we learnt that the outstanding male had taken a Taxi towards Ivybridge. Several South Hams officers made their way to Ivybridge, located the taxi and were soon involved in a foot chase, tracked by the helicopter. Im happy to report, the outstanding male has now been detained on suspicion of theft".

Well done to all the officers involved - great team work!
