A woman has been airlifted to Derriford Hospital after a serious crash on main road into Dartmouth. 

Update: Kingsbridge Police have confirmed that the crash involved a Ford Fiesta and a skip lorry, and the 23-year-old woman who was airlifted to Derriford Hospital had to be cut from her vehicle and is still in a "serious condition".


Police are asking for any witness or those with dashcam footage to get in touch via THESE OPTIONS and quoting log number 0206 120521.

A spokesperson added: "The road remains closed with diversions in place whilst an investigation continues. This will be open ASAP and we thank you for your patience."

The crash, involving a car and a lorry, occurred on the A3122 at Dartmouth at around 9.30am this morning, 12th May. 

Devon and Cornwall Police, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, South Western Ambulance Service and Devon Air Ambulance all attended the scene. 

The A3122 is currently closed in both directions at Halwell and drivers are advised to avoid the area. 

A police spokesperson said: “The female driver of the car has been airlifted to Derriford Hospital with what are currently believed to be serious injuries.

“The road remains closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area.”
