Areas in the South Hams get up to more than 1,200 Covid cases per 100,000 people
Areas of the South Hams have reached more than 1,200 Covid cases per 100,000 people as the virus appears to be raging in the area.
In the Kingsbridge area the case rate per 100,000 people is 1,269.2, with 82 cases. In the Yealmpton, Modbury and Aveton Gifford area, the 1,187.1 per 100,000 people with 93 cases. In Loddiswell and Dartington the rate is 935.8 per 100,000 people with 69 cases.
Areas with lower levels include Salcombe, Malborough and Thurlestone, the area is 673.7 per 100,000 people with 35 cases and Chillington, Torcross and Stoke Fleming, the area is 683.9 per 100,000 people with 39 cases.

Officially, England is "moving to Plan B in response to the risks of the Omicron variant" and the current advice is:
- Wear a face covering in most indoor public places and on public transport
- Get tested and self-isolate if required
- Work from home, if you can
- Get vaccinated
- Let fresh air in if you meet indoors. Meeting outdoors is safer
