Julian Brazil, the Liberal Democrat Councillor has taken to social media to update the public regarding the recycling (or lack thereof) being undertaken by South Hams District Council.

"Rumour has it, the brown bin collection service will recommence at the end of March. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank local residents for your patience and forbearance. This is a service you have paid for and yet SHDC has failed to deliver since August. We did try and obtain a rebate, but this was not supported by the council. I would also like to thank my fellow opposition councillors for their continuous campaign to deliver the service you have paid for and deserve. They have held the administration’s feet to the fire and at last we may be seeing some progress. However, we shouldn’t count our chickens. Even if the brown bin collection does resume, SHDC have failed to provide the recycling and rubbish collection they promised. You pay your council tax you expect the service."
