Raccoon spotted in Halwell

I saw an adult and juvenile raccoon cross the road in front of my car this evening on the Higher Marley Road between Exmouth and Woodbury, Devon. 50 feet in front of the car, absolutely no question regarding my identification.
Any ideas where they have come from?
