Fifteen fire crews attended a fire at an industrial estate in Staverton, near Dartington.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called around 6.30am today, Friday, 19 May, to reports of "fire and smoke" located within a small business park.

A spokesperson said: "On arrival we were faced with a number of industrial buildings well alight.

"The officer in charge quickly made up for resources and we were joined by a further four appliances and an aerial ladder platform along with two water bowsers, the eventual fire appliance count would raise to nine.

"The building was challenging due to the amount of cylinders within and the large amounts of asbestos which was exploding and popping off into the surrounding area.

"The occupiers and home owners present were really helpful for our information gathering and supplied us with some much needed refreshments."
