Hope Cove Lifeboat called to capsized dinghy off Challaborough

Hope Cove Lifeboat was requested by Falmouth Coastguard after a sailing dinghy was spotted "repeatedly capsizing". 

The Hope Cove crew was called to launch at 1.32pm on Tuesday, 13 September. 

A spokesperson for the lifeboat said: "We arrived on scene and with the help of Challaborough lifeguards, were directed towards the casualty vessel a mile offshore.

"The casualty was recovered on board the lifeboat and towed the dinghy back to Burgh Island."

The crew also put out some safety tips: 

"When on the water, always check the conditions and ensure the vessel is suitable and the crew are capable
- Check the Tides
- Check the Wind Strength
- Check the Wind Direction
- Take a Means of Calling for Help
- Know Your Limits
