Huge tree crashes onto car park

A huge tree has come crashing into Quay Car Park in Kingsbridge overnight. 

Residents heard a loud noise last night, Friday to Saturday, 16 to 17 of June, and woke in the morning to see half an old oak tree across the car park near the Quayside Sports Centre and the skate park.

Luckily nothing (or no one) was underneath it when it happened. 

Had this happened during the day, many people, including parents and children, use those parking to access the sports centre - especially if it was during after-school activity time. 

We are waiting for an update from South Hams District Council, who own the car park.
