Salcombe RNLI called to head injury on a yacht
Salcombe RNLI launched their All Weather Lifeboat launched to a person with a serious head injury who was knocked unconscious.
Salcombe ALB launched on Thursday to assist with a medical emergency aboard a 26-foot sailing yacht, reported to be two-nautical-miles south of Start Point. A person onboard had suffered a serious head injury and initially rendered unconscious.

A spokesperson for Salcombe RNLI said: "Once on scene, two lifeboat crew were transferred to the yacht to assess the condition of the casualty. Meanwhile, the Coastguard helicopter had also been tasked and on arrival the paramedic was lowered onto the ALB and then transferred to the sailing yacht.
"With the casualty stabilised, the yacht made for Salcombe Harbour escorted by the ALB.
"Once alongside casualty care continued, whilst awaiting the arrival of an Ambulance for onward transfer to hospital."
