Seaflowers launches UK’s first luxury retreat for Bantham Swoosh swimmers

Seaflowers guesthouse in South Devon has announced the launch of The Swoosh Retreat (17–19 July 2026) -the UK’s first luxury retreat designed exclusively around the iconic Bantham Swoosh open-water swim.

The Bantham Swoosh is one of the UK’s most sought-after swim events, with 800 places selling out in less than two minutes. Swimmers cover six kilometres along the Avon Estuary through private estate land, finishing on one of Europe’s most beautiful beaches. In the final kilometre, the outgoing tide funnels through a narrow section of river, propelling swimmers up to four times their normal speed - creating the exhilarating “swoosh” effect.

The new retreat is designed to support participants through the full Swoosh experience - from fuelling and recovery, to seamless logistics and camaraderie with other swimmers. Guests will enjoy boutique accommodation, seasonal menus by Herbs & Wild, restorative yoga, deep-tissue sports massage, and transfers to and from the swim, with every detail taken care of.

10% of retreat profits will be donated to Level Water, the charity that organises the Bantham Swoosh and funds disability swimming lessons for children across the UK.

Dates: 17–19 July 2026
Location: Seaflowers, Frogmore, South Devon
Price: From £845pp

Retreat highlights include:
  • Two nights of luxury water-front accommodation at Seaflowers, just 20 minutes from Bantham
  • Seasonal menus by Herbs & Wild, tailored to swim performance and recovery
  • One-hour deep-tissue sports massage and restorative yoga sessions with local holistic masseuses Lou Parker-Swift and Katie Brown
  • Private transfers to and from the swim
  • Hot tub, firepit, paddleboards and waterside gardens

“The Bantham Swoosh is one of the UK’s most joyful swims - the community, the ride of the tide and Level Water’s superb organisation make it so special. Our new retreat gives swimmers the full experience: the buzz of the swim itself, combined with luxury recovery, yoga, massage, incredible food and seamless logistics", said Suzy Greenwood, owner of Seaflowers, who will be swimming the event for the fourth year running in 2026.
