Local photographer scoops silver in the WPE Awards finals

Kingsbridge based wedding and portrait photographer Martyn Norsworthy has kick-started the New Year with great news from the Wedding and Portrait Europe Awards (WPE) World Cup 2022.

The World Cup is the culmination of two competitions in 2022, in which Martyn gained a Silver award in the first half of 2022 with a Wedding Photo shot at Shilstone House near Modbury.

In the Second Half and World Cup he has gained an additional Silver Award for an "emotional and tender" photo shot at Tom and Rob’s Wedding Day at the late Wedding Venue, Buckland tout-Saints.

Both photographs that scooped Silver were Black and White, Martyn loves Black and White for those tender, emotional moments as it catches the light, the emotion and memories so well.

The WPE Awards hold 3 Competitions a year, first half, second half and the final (World Cup). With a membership of over 10,000 Photographers globally, it’s a great achievement to gain an award.

The winning entry which gained Martyn “Silver” was entered into the “Wedding Couple Alone” and in the World Cup there were just the following Awards : Bronze : 14 - Silver : 36 - Gold : 0 - Platinum : 0

Each year the Top Award winning images are featured in the WPE Annual Book, and the top 100 Photographers receive a Crystal Trophy. Something to aim for!
