Local - South Hams - Green Home Grant Scheme

A £2 billion new Green Homes Grant Scheme will be launched in September and could get the homeowner in England up to £5000 in vouchers for green improvements to their home such as double glazing, loft, wall and floor insulation.

The vouchers will be worth up to £5,000 per household and up to £10,000 for the poorest households. They will fund two thirds of the cost of the work done. So if you have £6000 worth of work done you would be entitled to a voucher of £4,000.

There's never been a better time to get those old energy inefficient windows replaced and this is the perfect time to get that cavity wall insulation sorted!

You'll have to wait until September (when the scheme is launched) to apply for the vouchers but that doesn't stop you from shopping around now and getting an idea of costs and design. Get yourself to the front of that queue!
