A Gofundme page had been set up for a local family who lost everything in the devastating house fire in Aveton Gifford in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday 16 February.

Thankfully no-one was physically hurt in the blaze but the family have lost their home, their vehicles and all of their possessions.

Nicola Widger and Emily set the Gofundme page up on Wednesday afternoon and wrote,

"We are fundraising for our best friend Carley & her family who have sadly lost everything in a horrific house fire today.

The fire happened in the early hours of this morning (Weds 16/02/22). Thankfully everyone inside is physically okay but the house has been destroyed along will all of their belongings including all of the cars, phones, clothes absolutely EVERYTHING!

Carley was in the house along with her father, husband, 4 year old daughter and pet dog who all managed to get out safely but left with only the clothes they were wearing. They have nothing and will be starting from scratch so we hope to be able to come together as a local community to support them in this devastating time.

All donations, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated.

Please can we ask you to all share this on social media so it reaches as many people as possible who may like to help".

If you would like to make a donation you can visit the Gofundme page here.
