"Much loved" woman who died falling off cliff is named
NewA woman who died after falling from cliffs at Hope Cove is named as Kingsbridge Community College student Keeleigh Plant.
Kingsbridge Community College contacted parents and carers today to name the woman who tragically died on Friday, 19 May, as one of their Year 13 students, calling Keeleigh a "much loved daughter, sister, aunty and friend".
KCC Principal Tina Graham said: "I know you will join me in sending our deepest love and thoughts to her family at this time."
The school is offering support in the college tomorrow, Monday, 22 May, and onwards for "students and staff who would like someone to talk to".
Ms Graham continued: "The next few days may be difficult for all, but it will be important to maintain our normal routines whilst allowing everyone to grieve in their own way and in their own time. There will be additional adults and colleagues from The Educational Psychology Service in college and available to provide additional support as necessary.
Devon and Cornwall Police has said: "Police were informed by the Coastguard at around 4.40pm on 19 May, that the body of a woman had been recovered from the beach near Hope Cove.
"An 18-year-old woman was reported to have fallen from the cliff and was confirmed deceased at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and enquiries are continuing."
