SHDC car parks are switching from RingGo to PayByPhone

South Hams District Council is changing the way people pay for car parking, switching from the RingGo app to the PayByPhone. 

South Hams District Council is moving their car park payments from RingGo to PayByPhone from Sunday, 12 January. 

In order to pay for parking via your phone, you will need to download the PayByPhone app:  

If you have an iPhone, use the Apple Store. 

If you have an Android, use the Google Play Store. 

You can still pay by cash at their machines in the car park.

Why??? I doubt whether I am unusual amongst SH residents in having just got used to Ringo: why is it necessary to change (and thereby force us all to install yet another 'app')?
