A spokesperson for Bigbury Coastguard Rescue Team said: "Their car left the road and became submerged by the incoming tide.

"We made use of our raft and wading skills which we had practiced the night before at the same location!

"The two people were safely returned to the main carpark with damp clothes and bruised prides!

"The tidal road has several large pot holes and some subsidence, one wheel off the edge and you won't be coming out, please take care and respect that the road is tidal!"

In case of coastal emergency call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

(Thanks to the number of people who tagged me in this - yes I have done this myself but I will say I didn't need to be rescued by the emergency services ✌️???? - Sam
