A weird thing has appeared on Leas Foot Beach in Thurlestone, which we would love to have a hand in identifying.

The thing, which we found earlier today, Saturday, 16 October, while walking on the beach, is made of metal and bonkers heavy. Less than a metre long from end-to-end, with a circular opening at one end and a tapered point at the other, we would love help identifying it.

It looks like it may have been in the water a while, but of course salt water can make really modern things look antique in a very short period of time.

Looks like the pipe off a large ship that the anchor used to drop down into the water.

Weird thing found on beach

The first thing that comes to my head looking at it, is an anchor chain guide from a small ship.
