Fire crews from Dartmouth and Brixham and a water bowser from Torquay battled a dumper truck fire in Dartmouth.

Fire crews were called to the scene at around 11am on 12 September, and found the vehicle "well alight".

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "Once on scene crews confirmed the vehicle to be well alight and got to work extinguishing the fire using 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet. Crews also had to use environmental protection equipment to deal with a substantial fuel spillage from the vehicle.

"After crews extinguished the fire, crews informed highways to inspect the damage to the road surface from the fire and fuel spillage and left the scene."

Firefighters left the scene at around 5pm.
