Kingsbridge now has a Christmas Tree!
Kingsbridge now has a Christmas Tree after the town council previously decided against it for the town.
Kingsbridge Town Council released a video of the large tree arriving and being set up in the former traditional position next to the Kingsbridge Information Centre.
The tree will be decorated over the weekend, avoiding the high winds forecast for the next few days, and we can't wait to see it all lit up.
Kingsbridge Town Council released a statement on Thursday, 18 November, to say: "Kingsbridge Town Council has paused…had a re-think and a Christmas Tree will be erected on the edge of the Town Square.
"Hold the humbugs and roll out the mince pies!!"
Kingsbridge Town Council made the decision in June to not have the usual tree, placed at the edge of Quay House grounds next to the town square, due to previous trees being “underwhelming” and that the location was “not a focal point”.
They recommended that there “should not be a Christmas Tree for 2021/22 and for no alternative”.
